Hi Don,

The dimensions of your current lock cutout are taller than the keyless locks that we carry. I would suggest double checking that those measurements are correct with the lock removed from the cutout. If it is truly 2 3/4" wide by 4 3/4" tall, you'll need to modify the opening in order to install the Bauer NE RV Entry Door Lock part # BA53UR. I suggest going with the # BA53UR because it can be opened with Bluetooth, a keypad, or if the battery were to die it comes with backup keys as well. This lock will show you the battery life to help prevent accidental lockouts, keeps track of when its locked/unlocked, and changes power mode to save battery life for long term storage.

To modify the cutout, first I'd fill the excess space where the door lock won't sit so you can install the lock without it moving around. You'll want to add a bead of silicone sealant around the backside of the exterior plate to prevent any water leaks. Then, you can use some door handle back plates from a hardware store and cutout holes for the internal components and mounting screws to fit through and secure the plates to the RV door with glue or screws. From there you can install the lock in the custom adapter plates and the lock's mounting bolts will now clamp onto the metal plates instead of slipping into the hole.

Do you prefer to use Bluetooth or a keypad with a keyless door lock?
