Rear Suspension Upgrade Recommendation for 2007 Ford E-450 Class C

Updated 08/12/2026 | Published 08/08/2026

Question:

i HAVE A 2007 e450 Class C motorhome . Lookin for a a rear airbag system that will improve ride comfort. I dont have a sag problem, just want to smooth out some of those harsh road hits. I have all the exiting suspension and handling addons installed. Front and rear sway bars, Koni shocks, trackbar, Steering Plus steering stabilizer. I purchase airbag from you before but had an internal hard rubber and that was a wrong recommendation from you.

Hey Michael, I have a great solution for you but since what you are wanting is improved ride quality I wouldn't recommend air bags and instead recommend a set of SumoSprings part # SSR-106-40-1. These are a confirmed fit for your 2007 e450 Class C and unlike air bags are good at improving ride quality. I know air bags sound like they would be nice and soft but they are actually pretty harsh unlike the SumoSprings. Plus you don't have to worry about leaks or maintaining a certain air pressure. It's a very "set it and forget it" solution. Where do you find the most harshness in your ride quality?
