My Acadia doesnt have the panel in the bumper for the receiver.

Hey Michael!

To install the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e57ZV on your 2025 GMC Acadia, you will have to trim the fascia of the bumper. In the installation instructions, you'll see the photo that I've posted below, and my technician notes show, "Installation requires permanent removal of the impact structure. Hitch replaces the impact structure for support and safety."

I can confirm that I personally own a GMC Acadia that was installed by our installation team on campus and the fascia had to be cut for the hitch receiver to have an opening, though the cut is only about 4"-6" wide. To clean up the installation, you could use a cover like Rubber Tube Cover for 2" Trailer Hitch Receivers # I-728 to hide the receiver and protect it from the elements.

Are you doing the installation of this hitch yourself or having a shop do it? What are you hauling with the Acadia?
