How To Measure For Replacement Entry Steps On Trailer

Updated 08/12/2026 | Published 08/08/2026

Question:

I am looking to replace my trailers entry steps and saw there is a bunch of measurements that I am not sure about. I was wondering if you can tell me if those are the hight of the stairs when in the folded up position inside the trailer?

Hey Keith! The measurements you need are going to be the entry height (from ground to threshold) and the doorway width (from inside flange to inside flange). I attached some pictures below which show where to measure. Once you have these measurements you can use them to find the right replacement steps.

For example, if you have an entry height of 30" - 33-1/2" and doorway width of 23-3/4" - 26-1/4" you can use the MORryde StepAbove RV Steps # MR98RR. If you have different measurements, or you're looking for a different style, let me know in the comments below and I'll help you find the right replacement.

What kind of trailer do you have?
