Question:

How can I tell what “ Damper Shock Absorber Shock Absorber” I need for my titan? The sticker identifying the trailer hitch is gone. Suggestions?

I was able to identify your actuator from the original tag. You have a Dexter P-16 Model SLR surge brake actuator rated for 3,500 lbs.

The Replacement Shock Absorber for Dexter Model 60 Brake Actuators # T2336200 you're looking at is the replacement shock for the older Dexter/Titan/Dico actuators and measures 4-15/16" collapsed and 6-1/4" extended, measured from the center of one mounting hole to the center of the other.

Can you measure your existing shock center to center between the mounting holes? If it's approximately 4-15/16" collapsed and 6-1/4" extended, then # T2336200 is the replacement you'll need.

Is there one for the same hitch but rated for 5 or 7,000 lbs?

@LarryL If you're looking for a heavier duty shock in the same dimensions, we don't currently have a separate 5k to 7k lb rated version. These actuator shocks aren't really selected by trailer weight capacity like the actuator itself is. They're matched to the actuator design, mounting dimensions and required damping.

I measured my existing shock center to center between the mounting holes and it's approximately 4-15/16" collapsed and 6-1/4" extended. Consequently from what you indicated the # T2336200 is the replacement I need to replace my existing shock. Can I order it through your website and do you have them on hand. Do you have a return policy if it ends up not to fit properly? Looking forward to your response. Thank you for all your help! Larry
