Correct B&W 5th Wheel Setup For 2026 GMC Sierra 2500 Short Bed Towing 2027 Brinkley Z 3100

Updated 08/07/2026 | Published 08/06/2026

Question:

I have a 2026 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali with the 6-3/4' bed but it does not have the factory puck system. I'm getting a 2027 Brinkley Z 3100 and want to switch over to the B&W gooseneck pin box. Which setup do I need for the short bed?

Hey Mike, congratulations on the new Brinkley! The correct B&W 5th Wheel Setup depends on your pin box bolt pattern and the weight of your trailer. For your 2026 GMC Sierra 2500 with the 6-3/4' bed and no factory prep package we have the following available:

-B&W 5th Wheel Setup w/ GN Pin Box and Offset Ball - Lippert Rhino - 3.25K TW # BW84MV

-B&W 5th Wheel Setup w/ GN Pin Box and Offset Ball - Lippert Rhino - 4.5K TW # BW72RV

-B&W 5th Wheel Setup w/ GN Pin Box and Offset Ball - Lippert 1621/1621HD - 3.25K TW # BW44MV

-B&W 5th Wheel Setup w/ GN Pin Box and Offset Ball - Lippert 1621/1621HD - 4.5K TW # BW54MV

I believe the 2027 Brinkley Z 3100 still comes standard with the Curt Helux, which uses the Rhino bolt pattern. If yours has a different pin box, I can identify it for you if you send me the S/N from the sticker or you can double check with the dealer.

With a GVWR of 15,495 lbs, I'd go with the 3.25K TW Rhino model # BW84MV. This setup includes the B&W Turnoverball along with the 4" offset ball, which moves the connection point back to give you some additional cab clearance with the shorter bed. Of course it also includes the B&W Gooseneck Pin Box, safety chains, and new hardware.

Where are you headed for your first trip with the new Brinkley?
