How to Power Blue Ox Patriot in 2026 Ford F-150

I have a 2026 f150…. I have a blue ox breaking system …. I plug the plug ox into the f150 via the cigarette lighter for power. The power saving feature for the f150 shuts off the power to the f150 after 30 minutes, making the useless…. The f150 goes into power saver mode…. I added a Hotwire to the battery of the f150 from my motorhome… to bypass any problems. The battery of the f150 stays charged but the F150 continues to go into battery saver mode and shutting down the power to the sigarette lighter. Is there a remedy for this????

Hey Perry, yes we have exactly what you need with the Roadmaster outlet kit part # RM-9332. You will wire this directly to your truck's battery and you'll have an outlet that is active all the time that your Blue Ox Patriot part # BLU37TR will be able to use. Or the other option would be cut the wires that run to your current outlet and run wires from there to the battery directly but that might create more problems than it would be worth to just go with the # RM-9332. I attached a picture that shows this installed in a similar truck.

I had the same issue with my Jeep Gladiator. I had to switch a fuse from one position to another. I didn’t have to run additional wiring. I bet you you Ford has an option like this as well. Most manufacturers do. Check the internet, or call you dealer to see if the have a fix. Might be as easy as changing the fuse, or they may be able to program the change into the truck’s computer.
