Question:

Can I use the vinyl wrap for the bunks for my pontoon boat? I watched a video that said it could not be used for aluminum boats.

Hey Carl! A bunk wrap like the Caliber Bunk Wrap Kit for 2x4 # CA33AJ or 2x6 # CA43AJ is actually designed for aluminum boats. Although this particular kit isn't vinyl, it is an olefin-based polymer with integrated lubricant. The exception is painted aluminum since it could potentially scratch paint. Odds are you have raw aluminum tubes on your pontoon so that wouldn't be an issue.

Yes I put them on all my pontoon bunks what a difference it made in launching and loading. Best improvement i made.. would recommend

The caliber bunk wrap was a great improvement over carpet. Easy to install and the aside from easy launch and load the bunk won’t absorb water if you have the trailer stored in the summer like traditional carpet.

@SteveA thanks for the feedback! The fact that they don't hold water is definitely another great feature. That's one less thing to worry about when the trailer is sitting during the summer.

I have installed on two pontoon trailers. Big difference in loading and unloading. My pontoons are bare aluminum, no paint.
