Hi Robert, One of my favorite features of the Trailer Valet Jack, Part # TV39ZR, is the built in digital tongue weight scale because it takes the guesswork out of loading your trailer. As you raise the trailer with the jack, the screen on top displays the tongue weight in real time.
For the most accurate reading, you'll want the trailer parked on level ground with the wheels chocked, and the coupler completely supported by the jack. Once the coupler is sitting on the hitch ball, the jack is no longer carrying the full tongue weight, so that's why you take the reading before hitching up. It's a really handy feature if you tow different trailers or frequently move cargo around.
Are you planning to use it with a camper, a boat trailer, or something else?
