Replacement Landing Gear Motor For Tuson 141893

Updated 07/28/2026 | Published 07/27/2026

Question:

My Heart Land 5th wheel landing gear has a Lippert landing gear system with a 12 volt Tucson motor 141893 high speed 7140 rpm. My question is, can you up grade to Lippert 196308 motors? The 196308 motor from what I have been doing research on is that it runs slowly but has more lifting power. Trailer manufacturers states no upgrade available. Would the 196308 be a direct bolt on pattern and physical same dimensions? Would the current gear box handle the new motor power or would the gear box have to be switched out. Also what gear leg replacement gear kits would you recommend for the upper landing gear drives. I have serviced the landing gear with new grease and threaded rod with dry lubricants. My current motor really seems to strain and struggle with lifting the trailer. Sounds like it’s going to quit working under load. It’s never blown a fuse. The motor just seems under power and has been noticeably slowing down under load. Our front storage compartment is loaded all the time. I have also installed a new AGM battery. All connections appear to be in good conditions. Purchase the 141893 motor and see how a new motor may work or if the system would handle the heavy duty but slower motor if it’s compatible. Thanks in advance. Bryan

Hey Bryan, welcome back! It sounds like your current motor is probably just worn out. While the Lippert HD 6.5K Tuson 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Motor # LC196308 is a compatible option that provides more lifting power, you are going to lose a lot of your lifting speed.

Since you've been happy with the performance of your landing gear until now, I think the Lippert Components Tuson High Speed 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Motor # LC141893 is the better choice. It will restore the original lifting speed and performance without sacrificing convenience.

Where are you headed next once you get the motor replaced?
