Will Thule Quick Grip Mounting Hardware Fit Over Whispbar Crossbars

Question:
if the TH05738 has a 3.5 inch mouth does that mean it is NOT adaptable to a Whisbar 3.625inch width?

I pulled a Replacement Quick Grip Mount Assembly # TH05738 from our warehouse and found that it slipped easily over a Whispbar cross bar we had sitting in our demo bay.
I attached a picture to show it could be done.
