Flat Towing 2016 Jeep Wrangler with Existing Snow Plow Mount

Question:
I have a SnoWay snow plow frame on the front of my 2016 wrangler sport. What base plate and or tow system will work with this setup. Looking at the installation photos it appears the both frames use the same holes and locations when mounted. I really dont want to be swapping mounts as I will probably be using the plow more than I will be towing as I live in snow country in NY. What would I need for a complete package deal?

Hey James,
Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, there aren't any custom-fit base plate kits that are designed to work alongside an existing Sno-Way snow plow mount. As you mentioned, both systems use the same mounting locations on the frame, so they can't be installed at the same time.
One alternative is a universal base plate kit, such as the Blue Ox Universal Bolt-On Base Plate Brackets - 5,000 lbs # BX88230. These brackets mount to a flat steel section of the bumper and are rated for 5,000 lbs. They're compatible with Blue Ox tow bars, such as the Blue Ox Alpha 2 # BX7420. Keep in mind that universal base plates typically require reinforcing or modifying the bumper, since they aren't attached directly to the vehicle's frame like a custom-fit base plate.
If you'd like to go this route, I'd be happy to help you select the remaining flat towing components to complete your Jeep's setup.

One option would be a tow dolly. I bought a used one for under $1k. It is a bit more work than flat tow but easier to store at home or a campground than a car trailer. Actually I would like to sell mine since I went flat tow.

I don't have any flat tow components but since I would have to reinforce the bumper I am considering a replacement bumper with tow mounts. Still not completely sure I want to tow or trailer with the cost of the brake actuator for the jeep and not knowing how often or how far I would taking my jeep. Thank you for your response.
