Will The Thule Hullavator Work With The Truxedo Elevate Ladder Rack?

Updated 07/23/2026 | Published 07/17/2026

Question:

Im looking for a means of attaching my Thule hullavator kayak racks to truxido elevate ladder racks. Do you have any products that can make that work?

Hey Robert, thanks for reaching out. The Thule Hullavator # TH898 is compatible with the TruXedo Elevate ladder rack. The Elevate crossbars have integrated top channels, and the Hullavator includes the hardware needed to mount directly into those channels. As long as you're using the T-slot mounting hardware that comes with the Hullavator, everything will bolt up correctly, so there are no additional adapters or mounting kits required. As long as the crossbars have the required overhand (4"-8") past the uprights, you'll be good to go.

What kind of kayaks do you have? Do you usually load by yourself?

@RobertZ Nice! Yes, the Hullavator will work great for those as long as the kayaks don't exceed 75 lbs apiece.

@JesseM Turns out the t-slot hardware on the hullavater does not fit the slot of my ladder rack (my ladder rack slot is too narrow) It's actually a Realtruck ladder rack but it was my understanding it was the same product as the truxedo elevate. I may have been misinformed.

@Robert Oh darn. It looks like we have records of a few of our customers using the Hullavator with the Elevate rack, so it could be the track dimensions are different, or they did some slight modification to make it work. I've heard of people filing or grinding down the track nuts to make them fit but you have to be careful doing modifications like that.
