Best Replacement For Dometic Duo-Therm 620526 On 2006 DRV Mobile Suites

Question:

What is the correct replacement for a Duo-therm 620526? I found an earlier post from 2024 that said: The Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner ADV29FR is the correct replacement for your Duo-Therm 620526.321. This is one of our only low profile units with the 15K BTU rating. It will connect to your Dometic Duo-Therm controller so you only need to replace the rooftop unit. After searching your site I can’t find the ADV29FR listed. Am I just missing it or is there another unit that will work? I have a 2006 DRV Mobile Suites with a Dometic Duo-Therm controller. Ducted. The unit does not have to low profile. Thank you in advance.

Hey Robert, thanks for reaching out. We do have options for replacing your Duo-Therm 620526 AC unit, but that Advent ADV29FR you mentioned is an older part that has been discontinued. At this time, the only options for replacing your Dometic unit will involve replacing the entire AC system, rooftop unit, controller, distribution box and thermostat. There isn't an option for replacing just the rooftop unit. The main reason for this is in 2025, RV AC units switched over to a new R32 refrigerant, and these new R32 units are not backwards compatible with AC systems made before 2025.

That said, if you want to do an Advent unit, I recommend the following:

- Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - 15,500 Btu - Single Zone - Ducted - White - R32 # ADV99QR

This is a complete AC system, so you get everything you need to replace/upgrade your AC - rooftop unit, controller, ducted ADB and thermostat. This will be a nice upgrade from your current setup, especially if the Dometic unit is original to the camper. The new one will cool much more effectively and efficiently.

Is the current unit original from 2006? Do you camp in a lot of warmer areas?
