Hi Richard,

Thanks for your question.

To install the etrailer RapidRamps, such as # e47XV, the mounting brackets need to sit flush against the rear of the trailer. If your trailer has stake pockets at the back where the brackets would mount, those stake pockets would need to be removed to allow the brackets to install properly.

We offer several RapidRamps kits with different ramp lengths and mounting bar sizes, depending on the width of your trailer. If you can let me know your trailer's deck width, I'd be happy to recommend the correct kit for your application.

Out of curiosity, what are you planning to load with the ramps?

@RichardH For an 84 inch wide trailer your going to want a kit with the 38 inch index bars. For 5 foot long ramps you'll want # e37XV. If you prefer ramps that are 6 feet long you'll want # e47XV. Longer ramps will decrease the loading angle but they'll extend higher above the rear of the trailer when they're folded into the storage position. The width adjustability of these ramps will easily accommodate your side by side and lawn mowers.
