Can a Different Pin Box Raise the Rear of My 2007 Arctic Fox 29-5E?

Question:
I have a 2007 Arctic Fox 29-5E 5th wheel with a 5th AirBorne Pin Box, I pull it with a 2016 Ram 2500 with a Andersen Hitch. The rear of the Arctic Fox is low enough that I have to be very careful with sloped driveways and dips in roads. I have the Andersen hitch adjusted as low as it can go. Is there another pin box I can switch with the 5th Airborne that would sit lower in the bed of the truck? I have 8inch between the rear of the truck bed/tailgate and the trailer.

Thanks for sending the photos. They really helped. Looking at your setup, your Arctic Fox is towing very close to level. If anything, it looks just slightly nose high, and I don't think switching to a different pin box is going to solve the problem.
Before making any major changes, I'd check how your current 5th Airborne pin box is mounted. Most pin boxes have multiple sets of mounting holes. If yours isn't already in the highest position on the trailer, you may be able to move the pin box up one or two sets of holes. I can't tell from the photo if there are more holes above the current mounting location. That lowers the front of the trailer relative to the truck, which raises the rear a bit and can improve your departure angle without changing the pin box itself.
Your 8 inches of bed rail clearance looks good, and I wouldn't want to reduce that much further. Since your Andersen hitch is already adjusted to its lowest position, you've already done about all you can there.
If your pin box is already in the highest position and the trailer is still dragging, then I'd start looking at raising the trailer itself. If your leaf springs are mounted under the axles, a Dexter over-under conversion kit is a great option. If you have 2-3/8 inch axle tubes, you'll need part # K71-384-00. If you have 3 inch axle tubes, you'll need part # K71-385-00. You'll need one kit per axle, and this conversion typically adds about 4-1/2 to 5 inches of ground clearance.
Can you take a picture of where the pin box bolts to the trailer frame? I'd like to see which set of mounting holes it's using before recommending any changes.

The over under kit lifted my travel trailer about 5 inches. Easy to install. You may have a torsoin suspension, if so e-trailer has lift kits for that system. Be sure and identify your suspension system before ordering.

This axle kit is great, what an improvement. By flipping the axle, I was able to increase the ground clearance which made it so much easier to get into some campsites. Not only did it raise the trailer, but it also improved the towing. I am so glad to have made this change.

The tail of my car hauler was dragging when I went on dirt roads and sometimes on driveways. I installed the Dexter spring over kit on two different trailers and am very happy with it. Your trailer will be lifted by the thickness of the axle+twice the thickness of the spring saddle (about .75" each). In my case, that was about 4.5". At the same time, I went with larger diameter tires and wheels so my trailer is now about 9" higher. I'm a hobby welder, so I welded the saddles onto the axles myself.

Easy Install , I couldn't just flip axle because it already had a 3inch drop on the spindles , raised 4 and a half inches, my trailer is a small toy hauler, rear ramp for ATV , destroyed black water plumbing , and both rear leveling jacks getting to a offroad camp site , this worked out perfectly

Looking closely at the pictures, the first one is rotated slightly so it looks like the trailer is nearly level. Rotate the pic clockwise until the front appears level and the trailer looks extremely nose high. This would be an excellent candidate for the Dexter over/under kit provided your trailer leaf springs are sound. The only trailer I have installed an over/under kit on was small utility trailer, but the axles are pretty much the same. Assuming you have good leaf springs and axles above the springs this job should be fairly simple. Please note that you can’t just flip the axle, it has an arch to it to provide camber for the tires when loaded.
