Question:

Im having issues finding the correct springs for my boat trailer i currently have three leaf springs but unsure the capacity of the axle. i was looking at the 4 leaf coated 26in springs double eye 4k im unsure if that would be enough

Hey Gavin. The 26" Long etrailer Rust-Resistant 4-Leaf Double Eye Spring item # e48SR have a 2,000 lbs capacity and are designed to work with 4,000 lbs axles but will work with lower rated ones as well. I'm sure these will be plenty capable of working with your single axle boat trailer.

Our etrailer item # e48SR leaf spring measures 26" long from the center of the spring eye to the center of the opposite spring eye where they mount to your trailer's spring hangers. You'll definitely want to measure your current springs to confirm these are the correct length. The leaf spring also has a rust and corrosion resistant coating that is rated for freshwater and salt water use.

Going with those springs i have a 2in square tube axle what size square bolt do you recommend getting

@GavinD Awesome! For U-bolts that fit a 2" square axle, you'll need the CE Smith U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 2" Square Trailer Axles item # CE23103. These will work great with the etrailer item # e48SR leaf springs you purchased.

i currently have the 4 1/2 on a 3 leaf spring it barely has any threads will that change with the 4 leaf

@GavinD Ok, that's good to know. I'd go with two sets of the 2" Square Trailer U-Bolt item # SP01-160 and two of the U-Bolt Plate for 2" Square Axle item # 117594. That'll give you plenty of room for the 4-leaf springs because the U-bolts are 5-3/4" long.
