When you don't need a key but still want the door to stay shut, this thumb turn cam lock lets you open and close compartments by hand. It uses standard sizing so you can replace a worn cam without changing the setup.

Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a real quick look at the RV Designer Econo cam lock. Now the Econo lock is technically a non-locking thumb turn. That's just the terminology they use in the industry. So they're measuring this length of thread, so one and one-eighth inches long.
You got the main retainer net here. That's gonna be for tightening it down, and then you can loosen this screw and remove it. And then at that point, you can put on either the offset cam that comes with it or the straight cam. It's gonna depend on what your compartment uses. And then of course, it's just a turn by hand to open and close.
So you're most likely not putting valuables and that kind of stuff in here, or you're in a nice, safe place. But we also carry these in lockable options, so you can purchase them separately here as well. But again, this is just a simple thumb turn design, as it's called. And again, it is called a cam lock, but it does not technically lock. So again, folks, this is the Econo cam lock non-locking thumb turn.
