Replacement Suspension Parts for 2021 Grand Design Transcend Travel Trailer

Updated 07/13/2026 | Published 07/04/2026

Question:

I have 2021 transcend 265bhs 32ft long. I am wondering if these parts I have in my cart are the ones that will fit my trailer MR89DR and TRU32FR. I know springs are a little more than what factory came with but I was reading you can increase a little and still be safe. My current springs are on top of axles.

Hey Shawn!

The MORryde ALLTREK 4000 Shock Absorbing Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers - 33" Wheelbase - 8K # MR89DR and the 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles - 25-1/4" Long # TRU32FR are both compatible and would work with a 2021 Grand Design Transcend in the overslung position like you have. With Trailers, it's unfortunately not really possible to confirm whether or not a part will work because they're not standard within a model year like a vehicle would be. As long as your current leaf springs measure 25-1/4" (or a little bit longer if they've flattened out) from center-eye to center-eye, then you do have the correct replacement leaf springs. One thing to note is that changing the weight rating of your leaf springs can cause more issues: if you go too heavy, your suspension could not engage the springs and they'll be incredibly stiff and bouncy; if you go too light, the springs could be overloaded, wear much quicker, and even fail.

The # MR89DR are a great upgrade to your trailer's suspension! They absorb shock really well and I've received a lot of great feedback on that system. You won't be disappointed! While you're replacing these parts, don't forget your hardware. Since they're torqued when installed, you should always replace them when you remove them for safety. Here are my recommended replacement parts for you:

U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb, Round Trailer Axles - 7" Long U-Bolts # APUBR-8
MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers - 3-1/8" Long Shackle Straps # MR76ZR

Is this planned maintenance on your trailer? Are you noticing any wear and tear while pulling it?

Springs I purchase work great for me. I replaced oem 4 leaf with 5 leaf of same capacity. My toy hauler is older and wasn’t tracking well/lean depending according to road crown so I verified my spring leaf measurements and ordered them up. Installed with new hardware its made night and day difference. Ride height before and after were pretty much the same. Stability was restored and I go down the highway with confidence.

I’ve noticed that the trailer bounces a lot. The roads in wa and or are really crappy. I’m trying to prevent damage inside and in general to the trailer from said bouncing. I’ve already bought the shackle wet bolt kit. Do you think just doing the alltrek and wet bolts that I’d see an improvement?

@ShawnH That makes a lot of sense, that's definitely something you'll want to address sooner than later, and you're right on with replacing suspension parts to make sure it's all taken care of. I would be sure to replace the u-bolts as well because once torqued, they cannot be reused if taken apart, even in a brand new application. Beyond that, the wet bolts, Alltrek equalizers, and u-bolt kit should cover you!
