Thanks for writing in, I'm glad you found us.

It sounds like you're on the right track. When a fifth wheel is towing nose-high, it can affect how the weight is distributed across the axles, so getting the trailer back to a level towing position is a great goal.

You're also correct about the lift blocks. I would not recommend using blocks between the axle and leaf springs, especially with a MORryde CRE3000 suspension. That style of lift can put additional stress on the suspension, so it's not the approach I would take.

I don't have a database that shows how every trailer is equipped from the factory, so I can't verify how your suspension is currently configured. If your leaf springs are mounted below the axles, then a Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-385-00 for each axle would be a great way to gain additional ride height. This conversion moves the springs to the top of the axles instead of using lift blocks, making it a much better solution. If your springs are already mounted above the axles, then an over-under conversion would not be an option. This kit would give you a 4 1/2"-5" lift. I attached an image of what it looks like when the over under is installed, to help determine if that is the set-up you have already.

Another excellent option is the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit with Shocks # RM-2460-2560, provided your trailer has tandem 5,200 to 7,000 pound axles. This system replaces the factory suspension with heavier-duty components and adds shock absorbers to improve ride quality while also providing about 2 inches of lift. It's a great choice if you're looking to level the trailer and improve how it tows.

If you can let me know your axle capacity and whether your leaf springs are mounted above or below the axles, I'd be happy to help determine which option is the best fit for your trailer.

Thank you for the follow up and insight Kate. First, my axles springs are already on top of the axles. I was hoping that was my easy solution. Second, my axles fall short at 4400 lbs capacity as noted on the axle and spec sheet for the RV. The axles measure 3" diameter. I took pictures but see no way to attach them for this response. Any other potential solutions? I did like the idea of the Comfort Ride solution, any way to safely and robustly find a solution for my set up?

@SeanK Can you please respond directly to the email that you receive with pictures of your suspension and axle tag? I would like to forward them to my contact at Roadmaster to see what he thinks. Please make sure to get a good picture of your leaf springs. Also, Chester brings up a good point about the tires, what is your current tire size? If you would like to explore that possibility as well measure from the top of the tire to the bottom of the wheel well or the closest part of the trailer directly above the tire with the trailer loaded as it would be for travel and parked on level ground.

@SeanK I heard back, they cannot confirm nor deny that it will raise it 2". I am going to send an email to some of my other contacts at other manufacturers to see if there is something they can suggest. I will let you know what answers I receive. I never asked this originally, you do have your king pin a the highest setting, and you 5th wheel hitch at the lowest?

@KateF Good questions, I do have the king pin at the highest setting, and the fifth wheel hitch at the lowest setting. I thought about looking for shorter king pin assembly's or hitches, but I already have a 5" gap RV to bed rail max, and due to the angle I'm towing reducing this gap could cause damage if I have tight turns with decline of the truck.

The Alltrek 4000 will give you and inch of extra height. Its a little bit bigger than the CRE. I don't know how much clearance you have on your bed but you could lower your hitch both the truck and the pin on the trailer if there would be at least 6 inches of clearance between the bed side and the trailer. One last option depending on clearance would be to go up a size on your tires. That adds clearance issues on your trailer as well.

@ChesterZ Thank you for the input. I'm already as close as I want to be to my bed rails. I'd like to put my slide box back in that would give me nearly 6" space from RV to bed rails. I took it out to reduce the angle I'm towing at. The pin assembly is already recessed as high in vehicle position as it can be, so no luck there. For tire size, I'm assuming a 2" dia increase would be min to hassle with it as it would only get me 1" clearance axle to ground. I'll need to hook up the RV and get some flat ground to look closer. For the Altrek 4000, it looks for an initial review at least it's for axles heavier than my 4400lbs? Thank you again, your input is greatly appreciated.
