Question:

I have a 1987 Circle Horse Trailer with 2 axles. There are brakes on one axle but I would like to replace them and add brakes to the second. It looks like the stamping on the hub and brake drum is B-249-05 5-5.50 BC. I cannot fully read the axle tag but I can make out they are 3500 lb Dexter axles. What I am looking at doing is purchasing 4 of the 84557UC3 and 2 of the 23-468-469. Does this sound correct? Is there anything else you would recommend?

Hey Matt! The B-249-05 5-5.50 you have now does correspond with the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500-lb Axles # 84557UC3. These come pre-greased with your standard 3,500 lb bearing combination, and have a 5 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern.

The Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brakes # 23-468-469 are designed to fit these hubs, and fit your standard 4-bolt brake flange. I would make sure the axle without brakes has a brake flange on it before ordering everything just to be sure. You will also need some additional wire # 10-1-1 to run to the other set of brakes.
