Question:
I have a 2024 F250, 6.75foot bed. I have been using the BandW slider hitch but it is very heavy 265 lbs and I am close to payload limit. Also, have only rarely neededinch the slider. This hitch could easily free up 200 lbs. Q: the hitch ball is offset 3.25 is that going to have much/any impact on how the weight is distributed? Concerned that saving 200 lbs will be cancelled out by load being offset possibly behind axle?. Also thinking getting the extra 4inch clearance from the coupler would be great and THAT shouldnt have any load impact at all. Finally, do you carry the Andersen chain kit? Couldnt seem to find it. Thanks!

Hey Jeff, since you rarely use the slider of your current fifth wheel hitch the Andersen Ultimate part # 3220 that you referenced would work great and the additional offset that it has would help make the turning clearance good enough as well. The offset does not affect how the weight is carried relative to the axle either. The weight would still be centered over the rear axle like it needs to be.
We do also carry the safety chain kit you are looking for as well with the part # RM3230.
What camper is this going to be used with?

Hey Jeff, I purchased the Anderson ultimate hitch and I love it. I have a 2015 Ram 3500 6.4L srw, with a 6.4 short bed and tow a 2026 Brinkley Z2700. I also bought the chain kit with the plate that slides over the turnover ball to hook up the chains. We love the hitch. We also have a 2019 Eagle Cap 811s truck camper. The Anderson hitch makes it super easy to convert the bed of the truck to slide truck camper in! Definitely the way to go. Only other thing I'd consider is a genY hitch, but the Curt helux on our Brinkley is so awesome, there was no need for the gen y. So Ultimately the Anderson ultimate Hitch was a good choice for us., OH by the way, no affect on weight distribution.
