Hi Chris,

The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs part # AL39DQ do not increase the vehicle's towing capacity/payload. You're correct that these air bags are added as a suspension enhancement to help reduce sagging, evenly distribute the load, and make sure steering and braking stay consistent. It helps support up to 5,000lbs by sharing the load across all four wheels to reduce wear and tear on the suspension as well.

What are you wanting to tow with your Nissan Frontier?

We are very happy with the product. We use it when loading heavy objects in the bed to reduce the sag on the back wheels. Also use them when we attach our camper. They work well to level out the truck from the ag of the camper.

@ChrisH Thank you for the review! I'm happy to hear the air bags are doing a good job keeping your truck level for you. Do you feel like the air bags help with body roll and sway while towing your camper as well?

@ClaireH Not sure about body roll. We have sway bars with our hitch set up. Ultimately, our truck is small-ish, so there is always sway as its footprint is smaller (Nissan Frontier.) Couldn't say for sure if the airlifts are adding or detracting from that.
