What Is The Diameter Of The Hitch Pin Hole On The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver C87WR?

Updated 06/24/2026 | Published 06/21/2026

Question:

Hello. I purchased one of your trailer hitches a few months ago. Its a Curt C87WR, purchased to fit a 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander gas, not PHEV. I need to ask a quick question . . . I dont know the technical name for them, but the holes on the side, the holes that you would run a pin through to secure a snatch block or something else, what is the diameter of the hole size? Thank you!

Hey Daniel, thanks for reaching out. Sounds like you are referring to the hitch pin hole on the side of the 2" receiver. That hole is 5/8" in diameter. This is standard for hitch pin holes on 2" hitches.

Are you looking for a pin to go with the hitch? What kind of hitch accessory are you using?

When putting mine on we had to use an old gun cleaning kit or wire brush to clean out the holes. Then from there on the bolts went in pretty good.

Thanks! Yeah, 5/8", that's what I was looking for. I meant to say shackle hitch, not snatch block, but I'm glad you still knew what I meant.

@DanielK Yep I knew what you meant. I guess "hitch pin hole" would be the technical term for that.
