Question:

Can you tell me more about this pre-wired unit? Relative to wire sizes on the DC side as well as length of the main red and black DC wiring The manufacturer doesn’t give you any of those details and I find that important

John, that's a great question, and honestly, I wish more manufacturers published those details up front because they can make a big difference when planning an installation.

I reached out to PowerMax and was able to confirm that the pre-wired unit uses one 12 AWG wire and three 10 AWG wires on the DC side. The main red and black DC leads are approximately 1 foot long. That should give you a much better idea of whether you'll be able to make a clean connection to your battery bank or if you'll need to plan for additional wiring.

I completely understand why you're asking. Knowing the wire size and lead length ahead of time helps avoid unnecessary splices, voltage drop concerns, and surprises during installation.

Just out of curiosity, where is your battery bank located in relation to the converter, and what are you typically powering with it?
