Question:
Will the Saris hitch adapter swing away wide enough to clear doors of ford transit? I plan to put a cargo hitch on it and hold a fold up kayak. Also what cargo carrier is recommended? I need to add the weight of it and boat right and not exceed the max limit to the Saris.. Thanks !

Hey Clare! Yes, the Saris Swing Away Hitch Extender # SAR36VR will swing out wide enough to clear the doors on your 2021 Ford Transit T350. Something like the 24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier # e98874 would probably work well, but I can't say for sure without knowing the dimensions of the fold up kayak.
The inside dimensions are 60-1/4" wide x 24" deep so it would need to fit in that space unless you're fine with it hanging over a bit. The swing away/extender will reduce the capacity of your hitch by 50%. The swing away weighs 43 lbs, and the carrier weighs 48 lbs, so you can use that information to determine if the setup will work when you add in the weight of the kayak.
