Will the LockRacks Watersport Carrier Universal Crossbar Adapters Fit a Prinsu Roof Rack?

What type of racks is the lock rack channel mount rack designed for. The channel nuts are way too big for a prinsu rack

Hi Ian,
The LockRacks Watersport Carrier Universal Crossbar Adapters part # LR53FR are designed to work specifically with LockRacks brand watersport carriers. The adapters work with most shapes of crossbars (round, square, aero, elliptical, and factory) that don't have an accessory channel, so they will secure around the crossbar without having to put a bolt into the channel. From what I was able to find, Prinsu roof racks tend to have a narrower accessory channel that fits 1/4"-20 T-slot hardware, so I understand the concern. Since the LR53FR doesn't use the channel, the only thing you'll need to check for fit is that your crossbars are 2 1/2" or less wide. The LR53FR has an internal width of 2 1/2", so crossbars wider than this dimension will be too large for the adapter.

I have a Toyota 2021 RAV4 with factory crossbars. I needed a way to use my Thule 78” square bars above the crossbars, so I could carry 2 canoes. I got these crossbar adapters. Where there is a hole in the top T drilled a hole in my Thule bars for each one and put a bolt going up through the Thule and bolted it to this adapter. Perfect! I now clamp the adapter to my crossbars whenever I want. Note that the rubber pads inside the clamps can fall out when it is not being used, so you might tape them to the clamps. This is a wonderful clever but simple product. More people should know about it.
