Question:
I have a 2025 F-350 dually with a 8 ft bed. I have a factory hitch and the running boards extend just to the edge of the front and rear doors. What model Happijac turnbuckles do you recommend? I dont have a slide in camper yet, but planning on buying one very soon.

Hey Reid, thanks for the information. I recommend the HappiJac Qwik-Load Turnbuckles item # LC182895. This set of four stainless steel turnbuckles provide a fast, lever action system to securely tie down your camper. They have quick release handles for easy installation, a rust proof stainless steel design, and built in tension mechanisms that absorb stress at the anchor points.
The front turnbuckles with the item # LC182895 have a 16-1/2" to 23-1/2" reach range. The rear ones have a 22-1/2" to 35-1/2" reach range.
For tie downs that fit your 2025 Ford F-350 dually with a 8' long bed and factory hitch, you'll need the parts listed below:
Front - TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs item # TL87CR
Rear - TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs item # TLF3008
What kind of camper are you thinking about getting?

I've used them about 2 months now. Very nice and easy to adjust when needed. The only real issue I can say I have with them is how much of a pain the safety pin can be to get in the slot. There can be a lots of jiggling the handle to get them all the way through. Not sure why this is. It's only an issue with two for them (perhaps a slightly off center hole drilling?) Anyway, no big deal. The best part is you can adjust them while they are on the truck and camper (just like the basic happyjac ones).

I have used these once on a custom flatbed camper. Overall they work well. As I recalled new I had issues with a burr on the threads so make sure before go time you have confirmed the operaion is smooth. Only major difficulty I had was putting too much tension on the spring with the lever. The lever will bend, albiet with considerable effort, food for thought. Now that I know the limits I do not see an issue with them.

I am currently using the happy hacks on a 2024 Silverado 3500, with a Palomino HS 750. Going on 3 years now and no problems. I used a paint pen to mark on each one where they go after I get lengths and chains figured out. Makes it easy to install every time I load camper. I don't use camper in winter but camper is on truck a good share of summer. I always check the. When on road and will give the mechanism a little shot of oil occasionally during summer. The left front one I have to release when I fill up with fuel but not a problem. Very happy with them.
