Question:
Hi! I have an old Thule 998 Trailblazer bike rack. I’ve lost the hitch pin assembly. Wondering if y’all might have a good substitute? It’s a great rack, I’d love to be able to use it again. The original part number was 853-5019-02. Thanks for any and all advice!

Hi Lee Anne,
I swear those pesky hitch pins grow legs and walk away! Any who, the original Thule hitch pin for your Trailblazer part # 853-5019-02 has been discontinued since the bike rack is a bit older. However, good news is that the Thule Threaded Hitch Pin for Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock part # TH62RE is the same thread size and pitch and will be plenty long enough to secure your bike rack! If you're needing an anti-rattle device and lock for your rack, we do carry the whole Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device part # THSTL2 which of course includes the hitch pin as well. I've included a picture so you can see what the anti-rattle device and lock look like.
