Question:

Hello, I’m looking to add a winch to my aluminum open car trailer. Not wanting to permanently mount as trailer is stored outside. Just to have the ability to load a broken car if ever needed. I’m looking at Curt D210 ball mount and possibly mounting the Curt C31010 winch mount plate in the bike rack/cargo carrier receiver part, to mount the winch. Vehicle winched weight would be under 3500lbs. Would these items be suitable for this use? Thanks for listening, Happy Motoring, Lou

Hey Lou, welcome back! The Multipurpose Ball Mount item # D210 and the Winch Mount Plate item # C31010 would be a great way to add a winch to your car trailer. These parts are definitely compatible and will connect to your Silverado's 2" hitch receiver.

For a hitch ball with the Multipurpose Ball Mount item # D210 you can use the 2" Hitch Ball item # C40004 or the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball item # C40007 depending on the size of your car trailer's coupler.
