Thanks for reaching out, Brenda.

Unfortunately, I can't accurately determine your truck's towing capacity based on the payload rating alone. While the 2,915-lb payload number is definitely an important piece of the puzzle, there are several other factors that affect the towing capacity of your specific Ram 3500, including the engine, drivetrain, axle ratio, cab configuration, bed length, and even the build date.

For example, based on the information available for the 2024 Ram 3500, the towing capacity can range anywhere from about 14,470 lbs to 20,000 lbs, depending on how the truck is equipped.

There is a sticker on the driver's side door jamb. That sticker will have all of your towing capacities listed based on the options your truck is equipped with.

What kind of 5th wheel were you looking at getting, camper or maybe a toy hauler?
