Question:
I want to upgrade my utility trailer suspension. Is the cre 4000 going to be a smoother ride than the Cre 3000?

Yes, they will Mike. The CRE4000 or AllTrek 4000 is better in a couple ways from the CRE3000. The first is the 4000 is constructed with 40% more rubber than the CRE3000, which means more shock absorption as you tow. It also has another inch of suspension travel, 4" compared to 3", that further smooths out your ride. We have two options for a tandem axle utility trailer:
35" Wheelbase: MORryde AllTrek 4000 Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR29DR
33" Wheelbase: MORryde AllTrek 4000 Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR89DR
When you swap out your equalizers, you'll also want to switch out your hardware as those wet bolts are only meant to be torqued down once. You'll want to pick a kit with the closest size to your current shackle straps.
The MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers item # MR46ZR is for 2-1/4" shackles or item # MR76ZR is for 3-1/8" shackles. These kits come with the bronze bushings, wet bolts and shackle straps.
What equalizers do you currently have on your trailer? If you could get me a part number or the mounting bolt dimensions, I can find the correct AllTrek 4000 equalizer you need. I would need the 6-1/2" and 4-1/2" dimensions on the diagram below from your current equalizers.

Upgraded from the 3000 on a 15,000 lb fifth wheel. Great inexpensive upgrade The extra travel is a great very noticeable upgrade as it makes the axles more independent. The extra rubber cushioning produces a smoother ride. It does raise your trailer almost an inch if that would be an issue. Definitely worthwhile upgade

I went from the OEM suspension to the 4000. Several instances like at bridges I could tell difference. Install took a few hours but wasn't in any hurry either. This included the wet bolts. The original plastic sleeves were worn out. The only thing I would do differently would be to put grease perks on the inside. Now have to struggle with them being close to the tires.

The equalizer does not have any identifications. It is a standard equalizer with no shock absorber/ rubber component. The distance between the mounting shackle bolts is 8 inches. The shackle length is 3 1:8. The frame hanger is only 2 1/2 inches from the bottom of the trailer frame to the bolt hole. This may be too short for a shock absorber equalizer. Thoughts?

Mike, I did the upgrade from the CRE 3000 to the Alltrek 4000 on my Bighorn 5th wheel camper which fully loaded weighs approx 14000#. The first thing that I noticed is the smoother ride and the less bouncing in the trailer. I would highly recommend this product for a upgrade for a smoother ride all around.
