Question:

Im looking for a plug and play brake controller for 2018 ram 1500 classic. Everything i see show compatible with years before and after 2018 classic model. Which brake controller have a plug and play with my model? Redarc told me the TPH-020 is not compatible with my model.

Hey Cordell, thanks for reaching out. We do offer brake controllers that come with custom pigtails for a 2018 Ram 1500, but everything we offer for that vehicle comes with a plug like the Redarc TPH-020 or similar.

Did they say specifically why that harness will not work with your truck? If your truck has the factory tow package, it should have a factory connector that matches up with the TPH-020. It was my understanding both the Classis and non-Classic model used the same factory brake controller port. I've included a picture of the plug if you want to compare this to what you have.

If the plug does match, you can use the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED87CR which comes with the controller and TPH-020 harness.

If your plug doesn't match that, you can still install a controller, but you'll have to hardwire it in using a universal harness like the one included with part # RED52VR.

Does your truck have a factory brake control port under the dash? What does it look like?
