Can I use my Roof Racks bars from my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee on my 2018 Lexus GX460?

Hi, I have the following Rhino-Rack parts from a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I want to reuse on my 2018 Lexus GX 460 flush/fixed mounting point rails: - RRVA126B-2 — Vortex Aero Crossbars, 49, Qty 2 - RRRCL4 — RCL Legs, Qty 4 - RRRCP64-BK — Custom RCP Fit Kit for 4 legs A few questions: 1. I believe I need new legs RRRCH6 and a new fit kit RRRCP23-BK for the GX 460 — can you confirm? 2. Do I need a 3rd crossbar, or will 2 be sufficient? 3. Can I purchase just the legs and fit kit without buying a full system? Could you also send me links and current prices for everything youd recommend I order? Thanks, Oliver

Thanks for reaching out Oliver,

You can definitely reuse your existing Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero crossbars # RVA126B-2 from your 2022 Grand Cherokee on your 2018 Lexus GX 460.

However, the current RCL4 legs and RCP64-BK fit kit are not compatible with the GX 460. For the Lexus, you’ll need the Rhino-Rack # RR99AG legs along with the # RRRCP23-BK custom fit kit, they're designed specifically for the GX 460’s fixed mounting point rails.

Your two existing crossbars will work fine for most standard applications like cargo boxes, bikes, and general gear, so a third bar is not required unless you plan to carry heavier equipment such as a rooftop tent, overlanding gear, or long watercraft where additional support and load distribution would be beneficial.

Good news is you do not need to purchase a completely new rack system, you can buy the new legs and fit kit separately and reuse your current bars.

What gear will you be carrying; cargo box, bikes, kayaks, or something heavier?

Hi, thanks for the response! So sorry... I think there may have been a misunderstanding. I'm not missing my roof rails. My 2018 Lexus GX 460 has the factory OEM raised rails already installed on the roof. I need a leg kit that mounts to my existing raised OEM rails and accepts my Rhino Vortex crossbars, so I can re-use the cross bars. I was looking at the Rhino-Rack RX100 leg kit as a potential fit. Part Number: RR97AP. Could you confirm whether the RX100 (or another Rhino-Rack leg kit) is the right solution for mounting Vortex crossbars to the GX 460's raised OEM rails? Thank you! Oliver

@OliverD My apologies, I though I read fixed/flush rails on the GX460. Yes, # RR97AP will clamp to raised factory rails and is compatible with Rhino Rack Vortex crossbars. As long as your crossbars are the standard Vortex bars, the RX100 legs are the correct for reusing on your GX 460. Let me know if you have any other questions about the setup!

Actually, i made a mistake on my last message :( “Raised” was the incorrect term. The OEM rails are flushed. It sits flat/flush against the roofline, no gap between the rails and the roof. So im actually thinking the right product would maybe be pn: RRSX032?
