Question:
You say this will fit my 2009 Honda Fit Sport but the specs are 55 inch long and my seat is much shorter than that i.e. the car width, right?

Hey Ida, the AirBedz Rear Seat Air Mattress # AB42ZR measures 55" left to right, meaning the width of your back seat. Then it measures 35-1/2" front to back. I've attached a video where my coworker Evangeline demos it in a 2014 Toyota Prius backseat. This offers very similar amount of room compared to your Honda Fit, so it will give you a good idea.
I'm a little confused as to what you were measuring. Did you check to make sure you have 55" across (left to right) in the back seat area? I don't see why it wouldn't fit, but you never know if there was a different model with different sizing in the back seat. Let me know what you find!
