Question:
We have a 2011 Coachmen Encounter mh, with a raised slide out. Looking to replace our current couch with theater seating, or love seat with 12inch arm rest between seats. Space is 80inch wide. Slide base is 28inch deep. Photos are the end of the couch, lookimg at the slide platform..Any suggestions? Thanks. Barb

Based on the measurements you provided, I do think the Thomas Payne Seismic Power Loveseat # TP92KR would be a really good option for your 2011 Coachmen Encounter.
At 67 inches wide, it fits comfortably within your 80 inch opening and still leaves you some breathing room on each side. The biggest reason I like this option for your setup is the shallower footprint. The seat base depth is right around 27-1/2 inches, which is very close to your 28 inch raised slide platform and much better suited for that space than most residential style theater seating.
The # TP92KR is also a wall-hugger design made specifically for RVs, so it does not need a large amount of clearance behind it to recline. That is important with raised slide rooms like yours where space is tighter. The modular sections also make it much easier to get inside the motorhome during installation.
From the photo you sent, your current couch already sits fairly close to the edge of the platform, so I would still do one final measurement from the wall to the very edge of the usable slide floor just to confirm you have the full 28 inches across the seating area. But overall, this is probably one of the better fitting theater seating options for your coach.
If you wanted a little more space, the Thomas Payne Dual Reclining RV Loveseat with LEDs - 55" Wide - Bogey Putty # TP48KR would be a great option as well, but you will be missing the middle console you are used to. I really do like the lighting at the bottom of this one, please see attached image.
Although, the heat and massage feature is a pretty nice upgrade too after a long day on the road with the # TP92KR.
Are you getting the motorhome ready for shorter weekend trips or longer travels this season?
