Hello Maire,

Thanks for writing in, I'm glad you found us.

The Recovery Board and Gear Holder Side Brackets # FR76ZV are designed specifically for Front Runner Slimline II platform racks, so they are not a direct fit for Yakima roof rack crossbars.

For a Yakima setup, I would instead recommend the Recovery Track Mount for Yakima OverHaul HD and OutPost HD Truck Bed Ladder Racks # Y01164. This mount is designed to work with Yakima HD crossbars and installs directly into the T-slot channels on the bars, so it ends up being a much cleaner and more secure fit than trying to adapt the Front Runner brackets.

If you need the recovery boards as well, check out the Maxtrax MKII Recovery Boards - Orange - 9,900 lbs - Qty 2 # RR33QP.

If you can let me know which Yakima crossbars you have, I would still be happy to help verify compatibility before you order just to make sure everything lines up correctly.

What kind of trips are you getting your rack setup ready for?

Kate, Thank you so much for your reply! I have the Yakima roof rack cross bars on top of my ARE topper. I was wondering if there was a rack that would attach to the outside of the Yakima rack and hung down on the side of my topper? I see the ones that hang from the rack system in the bed of the truck, however, my set up isn't quite like that.

@MaireD My pleasure =) Thanks, that helps me understand your setup a lot better. Since you have Yakima crossbars on top of your ARE topper and not a full platform rack or ladder rack system, there unfortunately is not a true side-hanging recovery board mount designed specifically for that setup. I actually think the SeaSucker Universal Recovery Board Mount # SEA39XR would be a really good option for what you are trying to do. Since it uses heavy-duty vacuum mounts instead of fixed brackets, it gives you a lot more flexibility on placement and may allow you to mount the recovery boards directly to the side of the topper itself. Honestly, the suction on the SeaSucker mounts is no joke. We actually stuck one to the windows in our building here and I was literally hanging from it. As long as your topper has a smooth enough surface for the vacuum cups to seal properly, I would feel really good about this setup.
