Hey Jonathan, welcome back! To install the EcoHitch item # 306-X7359 on your 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV you'll need to make a 6" x 2-1/2" cutout in the bottom fascia. I've linked an installation video below that shows this step at the 8:50 mark.

The EcoHitch item # 306-X7359 is confirmed to fit your 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV. This custom fit hitch has a 2" receiver with a 2,000 lbs towing capacity and a 200 lbs maximum tongue weight.

What do you plan on using your new hitch for once you get it installed?

Thanks. I am putting a bike rack to accommodate an e-bike. I have seen the video and the width of the cut out seems cut and dry to me. I was not sure on the end point measurements of 6”, but maybe it will be obvious once i’m at that point.

@JonathanC You're welcome! The EcoHitch item # 306-X7359 is by far the best option available for your vehicle for a bike rack. Yeah it's something our installers recommend cutting off as little as possible so your fascia doesn't contact the receiver. It looks better post install but may require some trial and error if you need to cut more off.

@JerredH if i may ask one more question, i don't see any mention of the torque settings recommended in the video. do you know what the recommended torque settings are?

@Jonathan Bolt Forum says: The Draw-Tite hitch installation instructions list the torque for the 10mm nut that attaches the impact bar to the car as 38 ft-lb (52 n-m)
