Which Kat's Heater Fits 2008 Toyota Highlander V6

Updated 05/20/2026 | Published 05/17/2026

Question:

I bought this kh11813 heater and it doesn’t fit my 2008 Highlander limited v6. Did I buy the wrong one? Is this only for the four cylinder?

Hey Matthew, the Kat's heater you have part # KH11813 is the correct listing for your 2008 Toyota Highlander with a V6. Is there a chance you attempted to install it in the wrong cartridge hole?

I attempted to put the element in the correct port per your videos and ones I found on the internet. Maybe there is variation from domestic built to Japan built vehicles. Just a thought. Also the element is oval and the port is circular, so that could be an issue too.

@MatthewG I would imagine there is a difference between the US spec and Japanese spec vehicles.

@MatthewG. I bought the same heater for my 2021 Toyota Tundra and it was plug-and-play. It was definitely not oval, so it makes me wonder about cross checking the part you ordered and the part you're trying to install.

I doubt there's a difference. Is the hole clean? In my Tacoma, I had to scrape it a little to make sure it's clean, it's a tight fit for better heat transfer

@RichW that's a good idea to check for!

@RichW I aired it out and no corrosion is there. I think I got the wrong element for some reason.
