Will Furrion RV Air Conditioner Without Thermostat Work In Older Camper?

Published 05/13/2026

Question:

I’m replacing the AC on a used camper I bought, and I really don’t want to deal with tracking down a compatible thermostat or control board since I think the issue is one of those, but it's already an older outdated system. Is there a Furrion option that comes as a complete manual system so I don't have to wire in thermostat and all that?

Hey Mina! Yes, the Furrion Chill HE # FR75TD is exactly the kind of option I’d look at for that. It’s a complete 15,000 Btu manual system, so it includes the rooftop AC and the matching manual air distribution box.

You’ll control the AC right from the ceiling assembly, so you are not trying to match a wall thermostat or separate control board. It can work with ducted or ductless setups, and it also includes a start capacitor to help the compressor start smoothly.

You're doing the right thing by getting a new system since it's getting harder to find replacement parts for the older R410a refrigerant; this Furrion has the updated R32 refrigerant that is in all new systems.

What AC brand is on that camper now, Mina?
