Good Modern AC System For Camper That Gets Used On Weekends
Published 05/06/2026 >
Question:
My ducted AC is done for, and this camper is mostly used for normal weekend trips. I’m not looking for the toughest unit on the market, just a good complete replacement that makes sense for a regular RV. What would you recommend? thx

Hey Jason, for a normal ducted replacement, I’d start with the Coleman-Mach Signature Mach 3 # CM83RR. If your camper has cooled air running through ceiling vents, that’s a ducted setup, and this kit gives you the rooftop unit, ducted air distribution box, and wall thermostat together.
That full-system approach usually makes the most sense on older RVs too. These newer systems use R32 refrigerant, and newer AC parts are not backward compatible with many older setups, so replacing everything now is usually the cleaner fix. If you want, send me your camper length and I can help confirm whether # CM83RR is the right size. What RV model is it and where do you like to camp?
