Hey Nelson! That’s a great idea. I’m assuming your 2024 Forest River Ozark is a dual-axle camper, but we’ll want to confirm that before picking out parts.
For a more budget-friendly upgrade, I’d start with an equalizer upgrade kit such as # K71-655-00. That’s usually the cheaper route compared to replacing the full suspension system, and for a lot of campers it’s enough to make longer drives, rough roads, and climbs feel smoother. To get the right kit, I’ll need a little more info from your trailer.
If you can, take a look at the axle tag. It should list the axle capacity. If the tag is missing or hard to read, you can also measure the axle tube diameter. As a general rule, a 2-3/8" diameter axle is commonly a 3,500-lb axle, but the tag is the best way to verify it. We’ll also want to confirm your axle spacing so we can match the correct equalizer kit. You'll also want to measure the distance between mounting holes on your equalizer, if you want to just upgrade the equalizer.
If you do have standard 3,500-lb tandem axles and you want to go beyond the equalizer upgrade, then the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers # RM82MR would be an excellent full-system upgrade. It costs more, but it replaces more of the suspension setup and adds shocks, so it’s a great option if you’re looking for the biggest improvement in ride quality.
Send over a photo of the axle tag or the axle capacity, axle tube diameter, and axle spacing, and I’ll help you narrow down the right kit for your Ozark.
