Question:

I am looking to use this mushroom vent in combination with a PC fan to make my own DIY vent fan for a campervan. My intention is to have a total of 2 vents and 2 fans 1 set for cooking and 1 over the sleeping area each with a max CFM of 158. My question is: have the vents been rated or tested to a certain cfm? I know if im trying to push too much air through too small a hole, my cfm will drop and there will probably be additional noise as well. Thank you

Hey Matt, welcome back. The Mushroom Vent item # 37202-29115 does not have a CFM rating. It's a passive vent designed for RV plumbing or non-powered air circulation. It doesn't have much space to allow air to flow through so it's not going to work well at all with a powered fan.

For a roof vent with a CFM rating, I recommend the Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan item # VP-543SP. This vent fits a 6-1/4" diameter roof cutout and has a 12v built into it. It is rated for 100 CFM.

What kind of campervan do you have?
