Question:

Does Yakima make brackets to attach their lock and load platforms to the classic Raingutter towers Y00101? I have the brackets to attach them to the Skyline towers but would like to use the former if possible.

Hello Robert, thanks for reaching out. No, Yakima doesn’t make a bracket to run a LockNLoad platform directly on the old rain gutter towers like the # Y00101. Those platforms are built around their newer tower system, and the only adapters they offer are designed to work with those newer towers, not the older round bar gutter setups.

The only way to use a LockNLoad platform and the Yakima 1A Raingutter Towers at the same time would be to attach crossbars to the towers, then use the Crossbar Clamps for Yakima LockNLoad Platform Rack # Y05039 to attach the platform to the crossbars.

If you want to attach the platform directly to towers, you'll need to stick with the Skyline towers.
