Can A 30" Long Steel Fender Be Flexed Enough To Fit A 29" Length Fit?

Just wondering if the Single Axle Trailer Fender for Boat Trailers - Cold Rolled Steel - 14 Wheels - Qty 1 flexes enough where it will fit a 29-inch length fit.

Hey Richard, thanks for reaching out. No, that 30" fender # HP38VR isn’t going to flex down to fit a 29" space in any clean or reliable way. Those are made from fairly stout steel and they’re built to hold their shape, not compress. You might be able to force it a little during install, but you’re basically putting the fender under tension, and it’s going to look off and stress the mounting points.
In the real world, that usually leads to cracking or loosening over time, especially once it sees road vibration. A 30" fender is meant for a 30" opening with just a little wiggle room, not a full inch. If your space is truly 29", you’re better off finding a shorter fender or adjusting your mounting setup instead of trying to make that one fit.
We do have one 29" fender part # HP35RR but this is only 7-1/2" tall so not as tall as the 30" fender you were looking at.
