Question:
I would like some assistance with setting up a 2026 Sprinter 2500 Van for Flat Towing. I have located a base plate confirmed fit for a 2025, but says not confirmed on 2026. However I believe they are the same as far as I know. I would also need a Demco Airforce One Air Brake System, however, I already have the motorhome portion installed as I have the system in another vehicle already. And then, of course wiring for brake lighting and possible battery bypass if Sprinter Vans require it. I am also aware that I will need a driveshaft disconnect, but unsure if eTrailer does that or not or are installers for Superior Driveline products that offer that solution. I should be on file from my last install from October of 2025 so you can review what was installed on my motorhome already.

Hey Brad! It looks like you have a Blue Ox setup from before with the Blue Ox Alpha Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX7380. The Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU33MR is what you're referring to but it is not confirmed to fit the 2026 yet. You can try to install it, the frame hasn't change, but I believe they updated the front grill and fascia on the 2026. You might find that you're cutting up the bumper and it may not look the best. Ultimately, I cannot guarantee it will fit at this time.
Assuming you decide to go that route, you will want to double check the weight of your Sprinter. I'm not sure what you have in it, or how yours is set up, but the GVWR can run over 9,000 lbs so you will need to make sure you don't exceed that 8,500 lb capacity of the Alpha. If you end up needing the higher capacity you can sell the one you have and pick up the Avail # BLU28QV.
Since you have the Air Force One components in your motorhome all you need is the Second Vehicle Kit for Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System # SM99209. The only confirmed wiring at this time is universal magnetic lighting like the # TL21RK. I don't have notes for it but as far as I know the battery disconnect # RM93MR is still required. The driveshaft disconnect is not something we deal with or have parts for so I can't help you there.
