Yes, you can use the Derale Hyper-Cool Extreme Remote Cooler # D15876 as an engine oil cooler. You just need the proper kit to complete the installation. Kit # D15752 may work for you. It fits engine filter threads sizes 3/4"-16, 13/16"-16, 18 mm x 1.5, 20 mm x 1.5 mm, or 22 mm x 1.5 mm.

The Adapter Plate and O-ring are designed to fit vehicles with a 3 1/2” filter landing. Primarily 1963-2007 GM SB & BB V-8 engines. If you can tell me the year, make, and model of the vehicle and the engine size I can determine if this kit or another will work.
