Hey Mike,
The Rear View Safety Backup Camera w/Trailer Tow Quick Connect Kit part # RVS-770614-213 kit is designed to have once camera installed on the back of the trailer for backing and one on your truck so you can constantly see what's going on which sounds like what you're needing. However, I reached out to Rear View Systems, and they confirmed that the monitor cannot do split screen. You can easily switch between the two cameras using a button on the screen. At this time, we don't offer a system that has a monitor that can do split screen and has cameras that will function for backing and observation, so the RVS-770614-213 system is still the best option for what you're needing.
It's really common to wire backup camera systems to be on all the time. All you need to do is wire the camera you want to see your cargo in to a constant power source for it to function as an observation camera. Ideally, the red power wire can be wired into your running lights as they're always on on the vehicle. I've included a photo with all the wires labelled for you as well.
What kind of cargo are you hauling?
