Recommended Rear Suspension Support for a 2019 Honda Odyssey  

Hi all: I don't know if this helps or not, but I bought these, installed them, and would recommend them depending on your situation. Here was my dilemma. I used the Odyssey in many ways, from carrying 8 passengers to towing small boats and other trailers, to carrying bikes on the back with a hitch mounted bike rack. When carrying 8 passengers the car almost never bottomed out and I would never hear complaints. When towing or carry bikes, especially with third row passengers, the car would bottom out very quickly and cause problems. All three situations create a heavy rear end. But when towing or hitch use you would also have sagging causing discomfort, a loss of control, and headlights being in the eyes of oncoming traffic. I installed the Timbren system. This does 2 things. The picture above is a nice reference. First, as these are taller than the original bump stops, the body of the car will hit these earlier than it would have hit the old bump stops, meaning you have a shorter travel distance before contact. Second, once the body of the care hits these, they act as a suspension enhancer, exactly the same way a firmer suspension might feel. For towing or carrying bikes, this solved all my problems 100%. No excessive sagging. No loss of control, perfect. You don't even feel it in the first or second rows. When carrying passengers in the third row, and not towing or carrying bikes, this is a mixed bag. The passengers says they can feel the body of the car hitting the bump stop and then the feel the added resistance kick in. No one really complains or finds it uncomfortable, but my son says it is a little less comfortable to feel that bump and the resistance kick in than it was to simply have a greater natural travel without these. I do not have very much third row use without towing or bikes, so this is not really a concern for me. I also do not think it would be a concern even if I had that use. No one complains. I only learned this from asking my son if he felt a difference, and he explained he did and how much. No one else has said anything. Hope that helps you. Seth

This is not an air suspension, it's a solid piece of rubber that replaces the cone shaped bushing on the upper control arm (parts: 52510-THR-A02 and 52520-THR-A01). I ordered it because the upper control arm bushing was broken, and the rear suspension was being impacted as there was nothing stopping the upper control arm to contact the lower control arm. At the moment the part was discontinued, so there was no other option at the moment. I have had it for a couple of years and still works great and reduces the impact on the rear suspension when carrying a heavy load.

I put the Timbren on our '23 Odyssey and they definitely firm up the rear end. We load the van and put a rack on the back for family vacations and the Timbrens really help with the additional weight. Compared to the factory bump stops, they are a bit more rigid and you can feel it in the ride, but overall they are great. We had to have them installed at a garage because they need to be pressed in. Hope this helps.

The Timbrens helped the load carrying on my Honda Odyssey. What helped more is the SumoSprings. The ones for the front are also the correct ones for the rear. They really made a difference in controlling body roll in corners.
