Hi Nathan, sorry for the delay, I was waiting to hear back from Seaflo to make sure I gave you the right info.

Great question, and I’m glad you’re thinking this through ahead of time because using the right screws and prep really does make the difference between a clean install and having to redo it later.

For the part # SE58VR, a good go-to is #10 x 1 inch stainless steel screws. They offer solid holding strength and hold up well against moisture, which is important for anything mounted on an RV or exterior surface. The exact length can vary a bit depending on what you’re mounting into, but that size is a reliable starting point for most applications.

I would recommend pre-drilling your holes. It helps keep everything aligned, prevents cracking if you’re going into plastic or wood, and gives you a cleaner finish overall. It also helps the screws seat properly so you get a snug fit without over-tightening, which can affect how well the hatch seals.

If you want to be extra cautious about leaks, adding a bit of sealant around the flange before mounting can help ensure everything stays watertight once it’s installed.

If you can share what surface you’re mounting it to, I can help fine tune the screw size and pilot hole to make sure it comes together just right.

What are you planning to access through this hatch, tools, hookups, or something like a water heater?

Heather A, Hi. The door is mounting onto a laser cut 11 ga steel sheet with Ø0.125" holes cut for the screws. Found a McMaster screw: 94195A175. It's self drilling, but I will use it will a pilot hole. Regards, Nathan Hart
